I am a certified sucker for anything Charlotte Tilbury. I love the brand as a whole and its promotion of barely there yet still sexy beauty. Despite Charlotte herself being prevalent in the beauty industry for nearly 30 years, the brand has only been around since 2013, and is already a household name in make-up, with the skincare side ever-increasing in popularity.

The serum advertises to “awaken your skin’s potential” with a mix of; replexium, an anti-aging ingredient, vitamin C for a brighter-looking complexion, and polyglutamic acid – a skin quenching ingredient which Tilbury states is over 4x more hydrating than Hyaluronic Acid (I’m listening…). An honourable mention to lactic acid and niacinamide, with the latter being one of the serums main ingredients.

Directions for use; After you have cleansed, apply 4-6 drops in the palm of your hand and massage into the skin. Can be used morning or evening, although I chose to add this into my morning routine.

Charlotte Tilbury serum: Products

THE GOOD

  • I. Saw. Results. My skin glowed and its tone was even, allowing me to ditch the heavy foundation and open myself up to the most compliments I’ve ever had on my skin. I even noticed some of my scarring fade – a claim many serums promise to achieve however this has been one of the few which have actually delivered.

  • The liquid is dream, in both consistency and smell. If you like Liz Earle products, then this is for you. The scent is the perfect balance of floral and fresh, yet not over-powering.

  • My skin was not left tacky after application and sat beautifully under moisturiser. There is actual gold in the product itself (high up on the ingredients list too), as well as several mineral powders; ruby, amethyst, and quartz. Whether this is solely topical or not, it still adds a beautiful sheen to the skin, almost working like an extra layer of primer. Now there’s a multi-use product for you!

  • The packaging is beautiful and feels high-quality. The bottle itself is glass and heavy-weighted, with the pipette dispensing the perfect amount of product.

THE BAD

  • The price tag is quite a punch. Saying that, it did last me a long time (around 4-5 months of daily use), in comparison to other serums of the same size. You can get 10% off your first order via the Charlotte Tilbury website if you sign up to their newsletter.

THE VERDICT

Did I like it? As Mr. Big would say, abso-bloody-lutley.

Price? £60 for 30ml

Would I repurchase? Yes. Even with the hefty price tag I think you really get what you pay for here. A little bit of luxury injected into your routine which also delivers results - what more could you want?

If you are looking for a good all-rounder and enjoy dipping your toe into the pool of higher-end beauty brands, then I would recommend this for you.
