BAREMINERALS SKINLONGETIVY SERUM

The bareMinerals ethos is all about barely-there beauty and radiant skin, so it makes sense for the brand to have a high-quality skincare line to complement their makeup products, and ultimately deliver the full package for natural looking beauty.

Although the Skinlongevity range has been around a while, I hadn’t heard of it until one of my favourite writers and Instagram influencers, Bambi Does Beauty, enlightened me to the serum after her incredible reviews.

The Skinlongevity line has one key feature throughout; the Long Life Herb (AKA Chomesio) a superfood from Japan which bareMinerals claim is clinically proven to strengthen you skin, helping it look younger and smoother.

Along with Chomesio, the serum features niacinamide, a derivative of Vitamin B3, squalane and ginger. Yes, you read that right – packed with antioxidants ginger is also a superfood in skincare as well as cooking. It helps fight free radicals as well as refreshing skin’s appearance and is meant to work wonders at reducing the look of dark undereyes.

This serum is gentle enough to use morning and evening, all you need to do is apply a couple pumps to a cleansed and toned face and neck area before your moisturisers and oils.

THE GOOD

  • The serum has a beautifully delicate consistency, I would compare it to a super light, milky water that spreads onto skin with ease and leaves your face feeling juicy and hydrated. A little goes a long way and you’re not left feeling tacky or greasy.

  • The packaging is gorgeous. It feels high-end, good quality and looks great on my shelf.

  • This being my most re-purchased serum of mine to date I think speaks for itself. I completely fell in love with it after seeing how much my skin tone and texture change, it consistently leaves my complexion looking healthy and makes for the perfect base. This has been my main serum for the last year, and for a skincare addict like me to resist the urge to shop around, the product must be damn good.

  • It’s vegan, free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, gluten and cruelty-free

THE BAD

  • Starting at £37.50 for 30ml, you may be able to find cheaper alternatives which work as well for you.

  • I have had some bottles which the dispenser shoots out too much serum in one go, making it hard to control the amount that comes out and where it goes. This leads to wasted product if you’re not careful.
